GLD Results - Near Stock
Well, for one thing let me say this is a different animal. Much different than the srt-4. Once I get a hang of it, I'm sure my times will be better.
My best run of the night,
r/t .348
60' 2.350 lol
330' 5.963
1/8 8.918@83.94
1000' 11.434
1/4 13.528@106.77
only power mods are slp lid, and cai.
I am positive with more seat time, I can get into the low 13's. and it seemed the closer I shifted to redline, the better the mph got. Next thing I need to work on is not tapping the damn brakes each shift. I think I am going to cut the brake pedal down a bit.

A tire would not hurt either. GLD is not the best prepped track. You have to go when there are FAST cars there to get good prep. Still good times for that 60'. Work on the launch and you will be bottom 13s and maybe high 12s on a tire.

I think the funniest thing was, I became known as the brake light bandit. I guess everytime I shifted I was tapping the brake. Size 14 hiking boots don't mix with speed shifting. Gunna see if I can get another brake pedal and trim it down. I wonder if tapping the brakes every shift slowed me down.
What is the best rpm to shift at?

Stock would be 6k. You will never hit it without a light though since the tach is so slow. If you get a tune and adjust the limiter, you can shift it at like 6400 for best results.

Hitting the brakes or the rev limiter?
Always fun to push a near stock combo, then later you can do some big boltons.
I've been tempted to run the Z06 at GLD, but the weather is so humid.

You will hit the limiter trying to shift at 6k due to the delayed tach.
I have seen people tap the brakes too. I too have done it. I have size 12 wide. I do not think it makes much of a difference.

Good run. It's near impossible to shift at redline in these cars, as the tachometer is 200rpms off. I had my rev limiter raised to 6500 rpms, and often shift around 6-6.1K rpms, cause the tach is soo far off (It's actually probably around 6.3K rpms in reality).
More track time will definitely help out. I'm surprised you ran soo well in this heat.

For one, I am not going to where hiking boots.
Just got done watching the videos of my races. Dear God!
My driving looks like a retard trying to hump a door ****.
I thought I just tapped the brakes, for most of the runs you see my brakes on for sometimes almost the half of the run.
I know this car has more in it, I was racing my friends SRT-4 which was trapping the same as I. When we were next to each other going down the strip(When I wasn't on the brake) I was reeling him back in.
If I do better and don't granny shift 3-4, no brakes. I think this car will trap in the 108 range.
Next time I go though, I am adding a hi-flow filter, cutout, new plugs and wires, and ported tb.
Then CNC ported 243 castings, and a LS6 Cam, and tune. Then I'm done.
Guessing that should be good for around 360-370whp.

Yeah the Z06 cam is honestly underrated IMHO. I love the power delivery of my car. With the heads your car should run pretty well. I'd advise you to atleast get some mid length headers too. With 4.10 gearing the car will really come alive w/ the Z06 cam. I believe Chris81 is making 360whp w/ LT's and LS6 cam through 4.10 gearing. With the heads you'd be making over 370whp easy, provided you have it tuned.
I'm leaning towards mid length headers and LS6 ported heads, should I choose to modify my car anymore. Oh, and remember, the car will sound damn near stock. No one will ever know.

I was also thinking about the LS6 cam as my car is a daily driver and I have to drive a client around every so often. There's no question that ported stock heads with an LS6 cam and bolt-ons should net you 400whp.
