How do I know if Altitude and Sea Level is hurting me?

Default How do I know if Altitude and Sea Level is hurting me?

I want to know if this might be hurting my 1/4 mile times thanks?

Altitude: 3010' ASL.
2939 feet above sea level.

I ran a 13.7044 at the local track.

Yes it is, in a way. check this site out. It will show you how to adjust your ET/mph at 3000' to what it would be at sea level. Im coming up with a 13.22 ET at sea level for those times you posted.

Usually every 1000 foot of DA is about .1-.15 of elapsed time. Some gain more, some gain less. My car usually varies about .25 between good cool winter/spring air (500-1000 DA) and hot summer air (3000-3500 DA). If you race a good amount and want to know the differences modifications make and/or bracket race, keeping an eye on the DA will take some of the mystery out of it.
