No 12's yet with new cam installed
Here's the results from my track visit on Saturday. I'm disappointed I couldn't hit 12's. Mods are in the sig. I haven't got a new tune since I put the cam in (and I know to get one, it will be in the mail soon), but I was expecting more than a 2 mph difference. Here are the results of my best pass:
R/T: .013
60': 2.180
330': 5.923
1/8: 8.881
MPH: 83.39
1000: 11.392
1/4: 13.481
MPH: 108.31
The 13.4 ET is slower than my previous best before the cam was installed.I was still on kuhmo street tires, and I know I need to get new tires for sure. But I'm afraid of breaking the rear. How can I get into the 12's on street tires? I know I have 12's in it. Any suggestions on launching/shift points with the new cam?? Any help would be great. Thanks.

Anyone else?? How can I get the 60' down to where it needs to be? It should be around 1.8-1.9 right? Should I launch it below 2000 RPM, or should I be around 2500? Just tryin to get that 12 @ 110 +

I hope your talking low 12's, if not high 11's. People are running low 12's with boltons only. 1st off, get a dyno tune! You have no idea what kind of power your making with those mail order tunes. And forget going by the "seat of the pants feel". I lost 16rwhp and didnt even know it, until I got redyno'd. I couldnt feel a damn thing.
Get some drag radials too. hold it at 3500rpm & "Feather" the clutch out. And make sure you have a shift light. Shifting is very important. I gained 4mph just by adding a shift light to make my shifts dead on.

I don't know what altitude you're at, but those times aren't good. My car trapped 112 w/o a cam, or a tune, or a shift light. What rear gear do you have? Your 60' won't affect your mph which is really low. My 60' have always sucked, 1.9 is the best I've ever got.

On the 10bolt get some nittos set them to 18psi cold do a long burn out 10-12 sec, launch at 3,000 or just over but don't just dump the clutch though just release it quick even ride it a little and you should be able to cut 1.8s in your 60ft pretty easy. Launching like that landed my a 12.1 at 114 with Bolt Ons only.

dude nittos and a tune will definitely put you in 12's...where were you shifting at? you can spin it a lot higher then you used to. I hope you did all the valvetrain when you did the cam though.

Yea, that's no good at all. Wait until you get it tuned and go from there. Your mph seems awfully low. A tune means everything, crappy tune, crappy times... Try some drag radials, or just play around with your car trying to find how you can feather the clutch and give gas w/o bogging or spinning too much.... man I'm glad I'm a A4...lol. Just don't get discouraged, wait on the tune, then go from there.

Yeah, I did new springs and pushrods, along with LS6 oil pump and LS2 chain. I know the trap is really low. I shift close to 6500 RPM, but I hit the rev limiter in 3rd just as I finish my run. I have a stock rear end, but I'm not sure of the gearing. I have tried to feather the clutch, but I know it is bad for it. I guess it's time to save up for wheels and tires now. A tune will be in the mail soon.

i agree that somethin's definitely holdin you back a lot. i ran my car (a4 with 2.73 gears) stock with just a loudmouth on shitty street tires and went 13.5 @106
