Default Ran the 402 ! !

I ran my 402 in the 1/4 finally. First off I had the check engine light come on while I was headed to the track and I scaned it and found a crank sensor code. I decided to run it once anyway and it ran a 1.60 sixty with a 11.14 @ 122mph N/A. It was cutting out at 6400 due to the crank sensor. The temp was 83 outside and we were at Route 66. I hope she will run a 10.90 when I get the new sensor and in 70 weather. Im proud, but the 60ft times droped from when I was in Tn. I used to could pull mid to low 1.50s at my local 1/8 track.

Thanks alot. It was fun, the drive to the track was 35 miles and I drove there and back with the cd player on and the air on... LOL... But yeah, my best 60 on motor is 1.48 and I normally am around mid 1.50s. But the weather is about 35 degrees warmer.

Not a bad start, ya never know how much power it could have been down with a bad crank sensor... I personally wouldn't have run it in fear that could cause something else to go haywire.... but apparently it didn't.

Get that 60 foot back and it's going in the 10's no problem.

fwiw, I also have a 402, first full pass 1was 11.06@123.x, 1.61 60 foot. 2nd outing, car made 5 full runs, all 10.8x and the 60 foot's were in the mid 1.5's Nothing but some suspension changes.

We'll se what it can do this year now with the right tire and a good suspension setup

Yeah, I am going to put the new crank sensor in tomorow or sunday. I may go back to the track in a few weeks. I think with the new sensor and a little cooler weather it should settle in around where yours is. I really would enjoy driving to the track with the COLD a.c and runing a 10 on the motor and driving home. That would thrill me alot.

Its possible. When is it ? I am installing the new sensor this weekend, I didnt get to last weekend I was working alot. I think that will put her in the 10's NA. It really depends on when that race is, and whether or not i have to work.

I ran it one time at an 1/8th mile track on a 125 shot with 500psi of bottle pressure and it went a 6.40 @ 108.89 mph with a 1.40 60'

Keep me posted how it does with the new crank sensor, be intresting to see.

fwiw I just had my car retuned, got the breaking tune out of it... made 477 rwhp thru a 5800 converter and a th400

Should be intresting to see how it runs now, especially with some better suspension stuff, and a little weight out.

it will be intresting to see what your setup makes for power, but if it runs in the 10's on motor which it should, that's the important part.. dyno sheet's don't get raced, and mean very little with auto cars anyway

Don't be upset if it doesn't dyno well that's all.

Yeah, Im not really expecting a high dyno number. I just want to get in the 10s befor I strip it down and cage it and start really trying to go fast. I have a 2 stage to go on it. 300 shot... I am gonna put a 3500 converter in it when i do that though.

Whats your rev limiter on. Mines on 6800, but on the gas it gets on the chip about 1100 ft or so. I am gonna bump it up to 7200 and see what happens. Do you think that with my setup I can turn it that much ? Thanks

I dunno what the motor is built for, but I'd think 7200 would be safe. My limiter is at 7600, made over 450 rwhp to 7400. I'm setting the shift light on the gas at about 6600 to start, on motor I'm gonna try shifting it at 7200, last year I was shifting it at about 6800 for the shakedown runs
