Default 14.3 Ls1???

i know every car is different, but i've never heard of an ls1 not running in the 13s. it was buddy's first time at the track. he has a 98 T/A a4. it's completely stock with 130k miles. he ran a 14.3XX @ 99.XX. he's trapping the same mph as me, but he's not really getting out of the hole well. his 60' is around 2.1. i guess it could be his 2.73 gearing? i was just wondering if this is normal. thanks.

something in the top end/high rpm.... is he mis-firing at all? he definently needs to get some 373's on that a4 though...

mine went worse than that 14.50 @ 98 needed full tune up...but if you do a d/a calculation it wouldve still been 13.90ish...are you guysin the mountains?thats about what stock 2.73 geared cars run here...anywhere from 13.90 yo 14.30....and yes 2.73s suck...mine had them .....tell him to do a full tuneup clean the mass air put a set of 3.73s in it and itll go easy 13sall day long....

I had some trouble with mine that way.Its fully maintained,3.23 lid/catback.I never dropped the tire pressure but managed 13s by the end of the night.Launching is the main factor, get that down and the ets will drop.

Default 13s

I can't get into 13's - see my sig. 14.001 is my best to date at 101mph. Before a tune up, I was running 14.6. This is in a WS6 w/ M6. If a PCM reflash doesn't get me into 13's, I am out of options.

plugs/wires, fuel filter, clean air filter, and cooler air will work wonders. It's hot out now, not good air for making power.

could need a tune up or it could be as simple as a high da. Mine ran 13.5@101 with a 1.9 60', the da however was 4800(lts, ypipe, catback, stall, smooth bellows, slp ram air kit, k&n). If you have a very high day which is very possible in sc then well i wouldnt worry. If you had a da of like 2000 or less then somethign is up.

13.3 stock with 145,000 miles so its not the miles. His trap speed is pretty good i would have him check his tire pressure. 20 PSI in the back and 60-65 pending on front tire in the front is what i always run.

Ditto on just a tad of maintainence. I picked up some good numbers on the dyno just by replacing my fuel filter. It takes 5 minutes. I say that, plugs, wires, filter. $90 for an slp lid from ebay. and he'll be running better.
