Default 99% Stock 02 Camaro SS LE35th T56 Drag Times!!

Im pretty happy with the results. I ran my 6 speed SS down the 1320 tonight. Its stock except for some slight HP Tuning that Ive tinkered with myself. Ive launched my SS a total of zero times before tonight, so besides regular driving, Ive had no drag racing seat time. Well until tonight!!!

1st ever run(right off the highway and thru tech)
60' 2.2017 (2k launch rolling off clutch)
330' 5.9388
1/8et 8.9920
1/8mph 81.52
1/4et 13.7829
1/4mph 102.98(Shifted into 4th crossing traps)

Missed no shifts(shifting at 5500rpm)

Best run
60' 2.1734(launched the same)
330' 5.8680
1/8et 8.8913
1/8mph 81.79
1/4et 13.5961
1/4mph 103.68(Hitting rev limiter in 3rd gear@ 6000rpm)

Im pleased with my runs for no seat time lol. Most of my 60 foots were in the 2.1 range on sumitomo street tires. The average et's were in the 13.7 range at 103mph. I spun pretty much every time, bogged a little on my very last run. I need to find that sweet spot! I ran once with ASR on and actually got a 2.17 60'! Thanks ASR!

Should I be running it out in third gear or just shift into 4th? Or maybe Ill just raise the rev limiter!

Decent times since there are so many limiting factors. Shift at about 5800 and you'll be in before you hit the rev-limiter.

The ET is decent. But the mph looks low. I bet it is nothing wrong with the car. Either high d/a, or need to spice up on your up shifts.

When I had my 02 T/A M6. I was afraid of blowing the rear from all the horror stories I have read on here. So... I left at idle and I ran a best of 13.5xx@106.77. 2.35 60'

Only things on the car where a SLP lid, and magna flow muffler.

Idk what the altitude is here, its southern ohio aka Dayton. I was likely generous on the shifts, it was my first ever time at the track with a 6 speed and with no powershifting. It was 95% humidity on a 92 degree day

So I'm gonna venture a wild guess that that was your car I saw at the Steak n Shake on Thursday night? I didn't have my Camaro out that night...just took the truck. You probably didn't even notice me...I was wearing a blue Carolina Clutch t-shirt. I'll have to keep an eye out for ya...nice times for such a stock car.

Haha, yeah was at Steak and Shake that night! I was on the way home from the track with my brother and friends. He ran a 12.02@117.8 on a 1.89 60' in the Formula that was parked next to mine. I sold him that car for $5000, whats he do? Slap a little spray on it! 135k miles on the drivetrain!

I ran again tonight, a little cooler and less humid then the last time. I also installed a used set of MT Drag radials(@24psi) and upped the timing from 25 degrees to 28 degrees. Instead of spinning the launch, I bogged almost every launch getting a best of a 2.10 60' on my new personal best run of 13.39@105.19mph. That was bogging at around 2-2500 rpm. I need some seat time.

What do you guys think? Any links to launching a Drag radial 6 speed?

You definitely need to raise the rpm point at which you shift....take it to the redline every gear. That will help mph...and the problem of shifting at the line.

I didnt raise the shift points, which I need to do. I ran again tonight, a 13.21@105.38 on a 2.07 60' was my new personal best. Ill tweak around with it and try again soon!! I need to lower tire pressure down to 12-14psi too
