Default Outlaw 10.5 from US 13 dragway

We made the trip to US 13 yesterday with Shawn Millers(Shawn @ VA SPEED) Twin turbo small block Camaro. He made a few changes since last year and has not made a clean hit all year so we knew it was going to be a long day. The track was slick considering the fastest pass in 10.5 was a 5.20.

Anywho, I set the AMS-1000 soft like my drag radial car and shawn worked his magic on the Fast system to make sure it got down the track, turned the boost way down and started creeping up on the tuneup. First pass car leaves, goes dead straight, 400' out the car is up in smoke. There were only 2 people that got down the track 1st round and no one set the world on fire.

2nd round we made a couple tweaks and line the car up again to have the exact same thing happen again. At this point we're thinking its the track since no one is getting down the track.

1st round, the car didn't want to come up on boost so that pass was junk.

We went back to the pits and started thinking what would it take to get the car down the track. Made 3 changes(Cam/2step/AMS-1000) and got the car fueled up for a test hit. Lined the car up in the groove and shawn took his time staging the car. Lights came down, we finally had 8PSI leaving. Car hit the wheelie bars hard, carried the front wheels for 40' and the car unloaded but didn't spin the tires. Ran it out the back door to a 5.3 @ 142. Considering the car was using maybe 1/4 of the total power and it finally made a clean hit we were happy. **** we were only .1 off of the fastest 10.5 pass yesterday.

We dedicated the day to getting shawns car down the track. He hasn't made a clean pass in 2 years. We'll take a 5.30 on very little boost. I'll have a video here shortly.

Here is the only pass it went down the slick track, I think the bosot was 16psi and the A/F was 9.5:1. 436" Small block with Twin 88s.

Major props to you guys, but im having a hard time believing this part. You mean 1/4 of the agressiveness that you plan to use on the tune? Certainly not 25% of its peak possible power

I can see a 1/3 of its power being closer to what Phil means....

He's not BSing.
How much power do you think a 10.5 Outlaw cars makes???
Shawns made 2470HP at something crazy like 40+ PSI of boost.
So i would say 16 psi is nothing for this car....
I should know..... Im there every time with him when we go to the track... even when its just Shawn and Myself.....or at the shop when were there late...

Hope she really shines at 1320X Buddy.
We will get there... Rome wasnt built in a day

The 2470 was at 35psi,and that was with the old setup,i'm not exactly sure what we have now,but i'm sure its much more.As far as 1/4 of the power-maybe close,we left a 4psi and ramped in 16 psi after 3 sec,so we can def leave at around 10psi and bring in total at 2 sec or so+we have 40+psi available. On top of all of that with the a/f super rich,we are letting some on the table there.

Making the hp is easy-figuring out how to get it to the track is the hard part.
