Default New track times

I borrowed some 3 yr old slicks and finally got to the track...not many cars there so did not wait more than 10-20 minutes (longest) between runs...almost hotblapping. This is in my full+ wt SS around 4k with me in it. Used to be 3520 without my 200# but since added some wt with the iron block and 12 bolt with 3.42 gears, new trans (deep pan) heavy @ss UMI torque arm and DS loop. Absolutely nothing removed full belts, etc.

First pass I was like WTF over
the car started in second gear (A4) and stayed there the entire 1/8th, anyway here it is:

60' 1.7811
330 5.3801
594 7.7151
1/8 8.2251 @ 88.23

What causes an A4 to stay in 2nd gear the whole run?

Next...did some tuning on the trans
60' 1.7211 (manually put in 1) spinning through the 60'
330 4.8790
594 7.0048
1/8 7.4810 @94.5 (better) but can the car back it up?

next...new tire pressure
60' 1.7447 (fishtail slightly)
330 5.0148
594 7.1650
1/8 7.64 @ 93.55

next...new tire pressure, longer burnout
60' 1.7149 (still spinning but what a rush)
330 4.9018
594 7.0339
1/8 7.5130 @ 93.92

Last run of the night...longer burnout
60' 1.6662 (nice 60' still spinning...think there is more there)
330 4.8063
594 6.9334
1/8 7.4113 @ 94.14

for next time...cutout or true duals can decide. Thanks for reading.

With all the traction issues not sure how the car is going to react to the 150 plate kit?

What stall convertor do you have and how high are you foot braking it at the line?
I had an issue once at the track due to the pcm going into limp mode, caused by me holding too high of an rpm for too long.
I held rpm's over 3500 for more than 5 seconds(or close to it) and it put itself into 2nd and would not shift. I ran a 13.5 @ 9X trying to figure out WTF?

I read the pcm freaks out if you hold above like 3500 rpm with 0 mph,it thinks something is terribly wrong and goes into limp mode.

I do not foot brake that high anymore and have never had that happen again.
A few people i know say that's the reason they run a 2-step.

Just my experience, but maybe something to look into.

Nice runs BTW!

I am running a 3600 yank but that first run I did not stall it up at all...just idle and matted the gas to flash it. The rest of the runs I stalled it up to 2200 and then matted it. I think with some fresh slicks I can get a 1.55 or better 60`
