!HVAC guys, anyone run plug-in heaters?
I'm as hardcore as they come... but I don't like the cold. I'm removing my HVAC and am looking at plug-in heaters. ANyone running them?
How well will they do with us underdrive light weight battery guys?
How well do they really work?

I have one I ordered off eBay, haven't gotten a chance to try it yet, but it looks like I'm gonna be wearing more clotes then usual in the winter.

I can remember my father's words when I bought one of those little plug in heaters because my heater core went bad and it was too cold out to fix it. "That thing is like a fart in windstorm" He was 100% correct, I vividly remember it and I think after driving to work on a 10 degree day it was warmer outside then it was in the car
Granted that was 20 years ago but I doubt they improved much on them. The little ones I see in autozone were the same looking things like I tried. Unless they make one that draws like 50 amps you will be pretty cold.. I forget what the BTU output of a typical auto heater is but its crazy high.

I wont eliminate my heat.....its only september, and last night the temp hit 41 degrees. I have never seen a plug in heater work worth a crap. You have to have heat just to defog or defrost your windows. How many times during the late spring and early summer have your windows fogged up on a 60 degree night???
