I guess this is the best place to post this. Im thinking about selling the s-10, Ive found a 99 camaro bone stock roller and may try to do the drag radial thing. What i want to know is who makes the best pre bent and notched cage kits for these cars. I want it to fit great and it also needs to be molly. 10 or 12 point with a funny car addition. Sponsors feel free to post or pm me a price. Also what do most of you 8 second guys have for rear susp.? Thanks..

Load up and take your car to Jeff Hayes in Herrin, Illinois, it is not too far if you are in Tennessee. He did mine and I am very happy with it. He might be able to pre-fab a cage for you and ship it. His number is 618-942-2141. Here is a pic of my cage after they installed it. It is a Chrome Moly 10 point that certified to 8.50.

BTW, when you are ready to sell the S10, let me know. I have a good friend that is looking for something to buy right now and he has been looking at S10s and yours looks pretty nice to me. We would prefer a rolling chassis if you would sell like that.

Madman here in Baton Rouge would be the best way to go if you would be willing to take a little trip. Otherwise, him or Wolfe Racecraft.

Ive heard good things on the Wolf cages, Im really just lookin for a kit and hate to drag my junk all over the country.

93ls7z: I didnt get the pics of yours to load but ill try again a few. If the deal on the camaro goes thru Ill be lookin to sell the S-10. It will be as a roller with the custom longtube headers and mounts for an ls motorand a fresh th350. The chassis is pretty much all fresh with areospace brakes all around aswell as new street lite wheels/tires 10 pont cage kirkey seats, ect, ect, ect. Going to be around $6500 rolling. If its something he may want LMK....

mines goin to burkhart hopefully next week. When i talked to them he had 4 f-bodies there and they said they do mostly f-bodies. So id give them a call.

yeah burkhart chassis specializes in f bodys aswell as lots of other cars. hes got my car in there right now which has everything you could possibly want on a 4th gen. most people that seen it in there decided after seeing it to get more work done to their cars hahaha.

Being as close to Burkhart as you are I'd bring it to them. Next car I do, I may just have to send/bring it a 1/3 of the way across the country and let them do it.

Madman and PAF also do great work and are sponsors on here, I have a local guy in CT that did mine, he's pretty good and close, very convenient in that sense, but he hasn't done as many of these cars as the guys listed above, and that has an impact in how it comes out IMO.

If you are doing the "drag radial" thing...its more than a 10 or 12-pt with a funncar cage, its an SFI 25.5 or 25.2 cage you are needing (if you are going to run 1/4 mile).

standard cages let you go 8.50 and slower
25.5 lets you go 7.50 and slower (3600 lb maximum)
25.2 lets you go 6.00 and slower (3200 lb maximum)

There is also a new spec coming out soon (25.3) which is supposed to be 6.50 and slower at 3600 lbs.

That 25.3 is what I am waiting to see, I'm just worred that it's gonna be legal for a 3600 lb car because there's gonna be 300 lb's worth of bars in it... or pretty much a full chassis car at that point.


If mine sells, that was what I wanted to build the chassis to, I figure that would be the best thing to have it built to, be more chassis cert then what I'll ever need, and easy to sell down the road.
