Project 1.5x 60ft times with the aluminum flywheel update.....
Well, it's not going so hot......I'm not sure if the weather is playing a factor since high temperatures are still above 100 degrees and the track prep has been no better than decent so far....
Last year I was running low 1.7x 60ft times at best on ET streets on salad shooters and heavy front wheels w/ 3.73 gears in back.
Since then I've put in 4.10's, added LCA relocation brackets setup for maximum bite, put in a 21mm 1LE rear sway bar, added subframe connectors, got Weld Draglite wheels with Hoosier Drags in back and skinnies up front, and I've shaved an additional 32lbs off the nose of the car. Overall weight savings up front is easily 80lbs and about 10-20lbs in the back.
With all those mods added, I'm now cutting hi 1.6x's at best and I feel my launch times are less sporadic. I feel disappointed that with all those mods I really didn't gain that much off the launch.
I'd say overall I shaved about .04 on average off my 60ft times, but I still feel like there is no way in hell I'm going to hit 1.5x's. I still am on stock shocks/springs and I know that is hurting me. There is also another 80lbs to take off the nose (Hal's, lightweight hood, k-member/a-arms). I doubt the combo of all those items is going to cut it for me. Maybe cooler weather will help a touch, but I don't see my car running better than maybe low-mid 1.6x's with all those mods added.
When the car hooks up from 6500+ launches it always bogs down to around 4000rpms. I see a few other people cutting 1.5x's on aluminum flywheels like Abdullah from Kuwait and others, and I want to know how the hell they do it!!
I think my only solution is a steel flywheel.

Would you mind telling me what gears you are running, what suspension mods you have, what rpm you are launching at (and if you bog or spin a bit), what your raceweight is, and what the weather was like?
Thx!!

One of my problems is that I have to air the tires down pretty good in order to hook. Usually I do spin unless I have very little tire pressure. The tracks here are rarely prepped and almost never hook.
