Guys,

Thanks for all the kinda words. I have put alot of thought into this car. It's been a work in progress for sure. Bryan, thanks for the props on the adj. shock deal. It'll look alot better once the factory frame rails go back in. I will tie in some outriggers so to speak into the open tubes that you see. The outriggers will be 90 deg bent tubing into the frame rails. My goal was to get the shock as close to each wheel instead of them being right next to each other. This is the very first time I attempt such a project. I have done a ton of home work. I just hope she's a contender once she's done.......

Oh yea, those pesky rod lenghts huh??

Thanks agian,
Dave

Thanks Phill. There's been many a times it gets tough to get in the garage and get some work done. All I had to do was get on here and see your progress and that was enough inspiration to get back at it.

BTW, that motor ya'll building would go good in here to go after the Paul Majors and the like out there...
a man can always dream, right???

We'll see what happens with the new motor. I don't know of any LS motor I would not put this one up against on the dyno and compare power vs durability.

That blower motor is really for my 69 Camaro. It's a 25.5 full chassis car. It's going to get registered and street legal. I'll use it for those Hooters, Sonic visits and mainly car shows and some trips down the 1320. But we will build a set of headers and a motor plate so I can run that sucker in the Vette when I'm in dire need of attention.

Car looks real good. Don't see to many that body style. Whats the crank centerline off the ground?

What kind of classes do you have out there makes you run factory rear frame rails but you can have a 4 link? We don't have anything like that out here.

I think you could run a 4 banger in that Vette and STILL get that "dire need of attention", much less the blower motor

Daca, I started on that jig late last night (after I got that motor pulled ).

Im not saying Wyotech is not a good place to learn a skills like that (i am sure it is a great place) but I believe Daca was self taught. I am self taught as well, and it got started when I was a welder helper workn pipe line construction MANY years ago. I got fascinated with welding and fab work. So, I learned how to stick (Arc) weld on teh back of a welder's rig on our breaks. Then I bought a used one, and started welding inteh garage. Then a 110 MIG. Then a 220. Then a TIG. 20 yrs later, I have gotten pretty good at it. Hanging out at shop's that did chassis/fab work after work/weekends. Ask questions. Go home, and try it. Read. Research. I have always been an advocate of doing something myself instead of paying someone else, unless I had to (like machine work on a motor)

My first cage I had done by a chassis shop. But, I was able to watch/learn as they did it. Then, just practice.

Wyotech (or something similar) would probaly be a better "short" term solution to learn a skill like that, but you are still gonna need lots of practice either way you slice it.

Also, I could be wrong about Daca, as he might have learned from a trade school. It is just from my perception from what I have "spoke" with him through PM's that I came up with the conclusion that he was self taught.

Well, It appears I've exeeded the allowed band width on photobucket. That sure caught me by surprise. I suppose I'll have to upgrade my account with them it. I'll try to get this resolved.
