What's the ABSOLUTE minimum weight for a drivable f-body?

It's getting cold outside and the winter weight reduction threads are starting to pop up again... I've always wondered how much an f-body would weigh if you just had the bare essentials for a running car. Weights taken from Brent Franker's weight page:

460.9 -- LS1+T56
120(?) -- K-member/front suspension/steering column
25 -- Driveshaft / torque arm
135 + 30 -- Rear axle / gas tank
180 -- Stock 16" wheels and tires

~950 lbs

950 + Bare unibody = ???

There are obviously a ton of variables (wiring harness, battery, headers / exhaust system). If I had to make a blind guess I would say 2500 total without a driver. Anyone have a more info?

Didn't Colonel say his car is gonna be 2500-2600 with him? This is with a full cage and all necessary stuff for 8 second times, I assume.

chuck has his down to the 2900 range with him in it. its got the lexan type windshield and gutted inside. i would say its in the 2700 range without him in it.

Interesting tidbit... just learned that a bare unibody tips the scales at juuuuuust over 750... that's pretty much unpainted with only the stuff that's factory-welded.

I'd guestimate about 2650 lbs w/lexan hatch, street legal.

does street legal mean with all the specified and mandated safety equipment in place ie air bags and bumpers? or is it streetable but not legal and if you wanna ask about legality ask your insurance company how legal a car is without airbags and bumpers and a lexan windshield
sorry about the rant but it isn't a street car if it doesn't have all the safety equipment installed and mandated by the factory and the NHTSA, otherwise it is somethiong else a racecar

You are gonna have to be more specific with your question, street legal to a drag racer or a pansy?

what if you just remove the rear window instead useing lexan. you dont need it anyways. i did this to my 87 Iroc once to go to the beach during spring break. i just sat in the rear to look at chicks while my freinds were driveing the car. it was kind of like a jeep. also can also remove the front windshsheild and just use a motorcycle helmet. that would be cool.
