Percy's Speedglass

Need some help. Anyone in here use the Percy's Speedglass front and rear factory window replacements? Been thinking of putting them in my 02 Trans Am. The front is 3/16" thick and reduce weight by about 30lbs over stock and the rear 1/8" thick saves about 40lbs. These are suppose to be a direct replacement as opposed to the ones they make that require trimming.

Please let me know if you have used them and your opinions. Thanks.

nice peices but very very easy to scratch and screw up with almost any cleaner be careful

I have the rear, it saves about 23 lbs IIRC. I wouldn't run the windshield for a street car, but the rear window is fine. I tinted mine, looks pretty good.

Thanks for the replies guys. If it scratches easily, what do you recommend for cleaning then??? Also, this car is not a street car its for the track only and doesn't see any street/highway action.

Speedglass doesn't scratch easily. I use soap and water, tint cleaner on the inside. Just don't use steel wool and crap like that.

+1 I never dealt with a car that had speedglass on it that scratched easily.

mies must of been a bad batch a microfiber cloth managed to scratch mine even after spaying it off with a hose to remove excess dust from the garage.

running the rear speedglass on the HOSS....great piece, fit was excellent, and with the tint and weatherstripping you can't tell the difference. I highly recommend it.

Also it does NOT scratch easily.....lots of washes, dust off's, etc...even shoe polish from the track with no issues.
