Can someone help me out here? Not questioning validity, just confused. How could a 388 LT1 power an Fbody to a 9.anything NA? Even a solid roller would struggle to get there. How much weighloss is there? I am just curious. Sucks about the wallet.

How about this: How can an LS1 car go 9.9x w/ stock lift hydraulic cam, and stock unported heads? Its been done, and is plenty valid.
It boils down to there being guys that are willing to go the extra mile to make an entire combination work to the best (or damn near) of its potential. Joe knows his stuff no doubt. There aren't that many on these boards that have pushed their given combination to the edge.
JMO.

Joes car was rolling Saturday for sure. If he catches some air like was there at MIR last weekend he will really fly. The air was around sea level most of the day Saturday.
At the end of the day Joe started looking in trash cans for his stolen wallet, and sure enough he found it...empty, pics, credit cards, money, and ID's all gone. He looked in another trash can and found the cards, and ID's,and the kicker was that he had pics of his daughters........the basturd tore them in half !! Talk about low life scum

Congrats Joe! I figured that's why you called. MIR or Cecil? I think your car has a high 9.6 in it. Better bring some more heat bro, I'll have some more for ya next season...
Or maybe I'll throw a 400 trans in this week and come thump on ya this weekend

Congrats Joe. If you had some of last weekends air you would have run a 9.6x. Car was looking and hooking good. Good seeing you again. Maybe next weekend we'll get some of that good air again. That chump that stole your wallet, and tore up your pictures, has some bad karma following him now. I hope they get what they deserve.

JMO. Who has an LS1 346 NA with Unported heads running a 9.99??? I have never heard of one person having that combo running those times. ONCE AGAIN I AM NOT DOUBTING Joe, I just wanted more details. Especially on this magic LS1 engine running 9.9 with a hydro cam and stock unported heads on a 346. Thanks for enlightening me. Bear

Stock lift cam, unported heads (not necessarily "stock" per se), Stock Stroke, Close to stock bore, Hydraulic cam (lifters may be modified to be almost like Solids), and much more. Stock ELiminator is tough. but if it isn't illegal, then the imagination can run wild w/ things you can do within the rules.
Thing I see is what S/E guy get done NA, w/ limited modifications, and we have guys here w/ Solid Roller 4xx's on nitrous mostly in the 10s. Granted we're dealing with his being a true race motor that needs consistent and maintenance, but you get the idea.
Sorry for hijacking the post Joe.
