lightweight carpet Q's?

I have been reading threads on this and everyone is about either Ozite or Speed Inc's stuff.

Has anyone used Lowe's outdoor carpeting? It is 6' wide and can be cut to length at just about 5 bucks a linear foot. It also looks a little tuffer than the Ozite carpet also.

I didn't use lowes. But I did use the stuff from Menards and it works great.

I saw your post when i searched. I would love to go for that but at 100 bucks less for this carpet i can do both my cars and still have less than 100 into it.

ndfrsd6 Aug 25, 2009 12:14 PM

i know what you mean .....money is tight for most of us right now :(

TORCHD 02 TA Aug 25, 2009 01:03 PM

hmmm i might get some light weight carpet. Looks plush  Mine looks flatened, and my car is not a DD..

Is there more road noise with the light weight carpet?

94 guy Aug 25, 2009 01:10 PM

how much weight lose with the speedinc?

MUSTANGBRKR02 Aug 25, 2009 03:47 PM

speed inc is about 12lbs where as your stock is about 43 i believe, less material = more noise.

ndfrsd6 Aug 25, 2009 04:04 PM

more noise yes but if your considering lightening your car to go faster you are going to give up some .... mine is a 2900 lb light weight so i have a little more noise than most lol...

Walmart has it in 6x3 rolls, Lowe's and Home Depot has the outdoor carpet to which i am talking it is light and looks stock. I plan on picking some up this weekend. I have 10 bucks off so it is even cheaper!

nemss1 Aug 27, 2009 07:40 PM

look into spectra carpet from pep boys. comes in a 6'x9' roll

MUSTANGBRKR02 Aug 27, 2009 07:59 PM

no Pepboys around here, the lowe's stuff come 6' wide and cut to length.

nemss1 Aug 27, 2009 08:02 PM

what section of lowes can this stuff be found at?

RARON455 Aug 27, 2009 08:52 PM

if the stuff is not molded how are you getting it to lay on the floor pan, there are curves and bends all over the place.
