narrowed rear and 275 radials????

im planning on running 275s on my car this upcoming year i have no plans on mini-tubbing i was just wondering what the pros and cons of narrowing my rear would be?? i have plenty of time through the winter to do so rear is a 9'' also

pro's..

You'll be losing weight due to shorter axle shaft and tubes.

It also looks much better with some dish on the rear wheels and it really opens up your options on wheels with the closer to center back spacing.

I am running a narrowed rear and the only con I can think of is that I don't have 2 sets of wheels yet so I can run different tires when I street drive the car.

But the same pros as above. Losing weight from the rear and looks MUCH better IMO

How much weight does it drop?

dschmittie1 08-31-2009 11:52 AM

Not sure exactly how much weight. I know that my Narrowed MWC fab 9 with aluminum spool weighs less than my 10 bolt did.

same here. i have a strange 12 bolt narrowed 2 inches per side and it is lighter than the stock 10 bolt. you are reducing rotating mass and unsprung weight. taking a few pounds off of stuff like that is alot different than just taking a few pounds off of sprung weight. and as mentioned before, more rim choices.
