Default brake and tranny cooler questions

I posted this in the AT section but got no response

HOw is a good way and location for the T brake switch. Do they still make the remote swithers with a handle, The ones that look kind of like a remote starter switch for bumping the starter under the hood? Also How important is a tranny cooler with an fittings? I have a larger, New cooler that would work good but it uses hose barbs and rubber hoses. Thanks for any suggestions

I have the Hurst Quarter Stick Pistol Grip, It has a button on top the shifter for a transbrake or line lock or what ever you want to use it for. But use it for my transbrake

My suggestion is to place the trans brake switch on your dash some place and the line lock switch on the shifter.

I ran them for a couple of years but had issues with them popping out, no matter how tight the clamps where. Since then I have went AN and no more issues.

.

On my fast car I use a steering wheel button, but don't forget, it's a 1.00's 60'
so I really like both hands on the wheel. On the Camaro, I use the T-handle shifter,
I liked it and never had a problem. The 1st shift on a car that fast is pretty damn quick,
so I was worried I would miss a shift.

I do not like rubber hose for trans lines. A new cooler with AN fittings was about $50 last time I looked.
If you just can't afford that. At least double clamp every line for your safety.

Good luck

Honestly I havent looked at them yet, But I didnt know you could pick one up that cheap. Only reason I ask, I have a good coller, new, sitting in the shop. But If there is problems with it blowing a hose and shooting fluid all over the track( which track officials hate as well as everyone else waiting to run) then a AN cooler is a must. Also my tranny has already been fitted with An fitings. As far as the brake switch I hate to mount it on the steering wheel being how it is a street car. I may just order a **** for my quater stick with the button on it. thanks a lot for the advise and info

.

I have the hose style on several trucks and they have been fine for many years.
I just really prefer steel braid on my racecars, much stronger & safer then rubber hose.
Plus a truck can run over fluids without spinning out, a slick & trans fluid is not pretty!!

Like I mentioned, I really like the trans brake on a T-handle for the shifter.
I have never liked a ball anyway, so I get the built in button and the T-handle I like. Best of both worlds.
The red car really needs 2 hands on the wheel, stuff happens really really quick with 1.00's 60'.
