wheels slowing 1/4 mile time down??
i just changed my stock 16" salad shooters to 17 in 10 spokes
245/50/16 to 285/40/17 rear 275 front
both on street tires
i took it to the track and it ran .2 slower and 2 mph slower as well
just wondering if the change in wheels and tires can slow me down that much

Changing the tires could have effected your times. Remember 16" rims has less rotational mass (takes less to spin them) vs. your 17" rims. Plus the 16s will be a little lighter too.
When I am in street trim, i run my 17x9 (front) and 17x10.5 (rear). Then when it is time for the track, i bust out the 16s all around

well i guess you can say so.
When i was on my 17s all around with street tires i went 12.3 @ 115
Then last week Tuesday, I threw on my 16s, with some M/T DRs and went 11.8 @ 119...
But here is the thing, the 11 sec run was in better weather so it is hard to say if i gained anything
