Default Can't seem to get a good 60' out of it.

I have a Heads and Cam camaro.

The car would go a 1.6x on a 275 nitto.

I put slicks and skinnies on it. it's on a 10.5 tire.

Car has full susp.

Strange shocks all around.

I set the fronts on 2 and the rears on 5.
Car has relocation brackets, lower control arms, Aftermarket torque arm set at -2*.

Stock trans and rear, 3.73 gear and Vig 4000 stall.

Like i said, last time i went to the track on stock rims and 275" nittos. Car went a 1.6x 60'

I put the torque arm in, lighters rims, slicks, put a cutout on it, pulled at least 100 pounds out of it.

went back to the track and it went the same 60'.

Any idea to help get it going faster?

Not really looking to regear it or put a nwe stall in.

Car doesn't spin at all, front tries don't really come off the ground, it just goes.

any input would be great.

try flashing it?

or are you footbraking it to whatever it stalls at?

what's your tire pressure?

go up until it spins.

I stall it as high as it will go without pushing through the brakes. It leaves right over 3,000 RPMs

flashing doesn't seem to work as good.

tire pressure is at 18 pounds. Do you think setting it higher will give me better 60's?

so try flashing it and leaving?

try raising your tire pressure until you spin, and then lower it back down a bit.

more tire pressure, u want just a bit of spin to keep the rpms up. Friend of mine was having the same problem, droppin clutch at 5500rpms and dead hookin, kept raisin pressure and the 60' got better, just keep playing with the setup. You cant just bolt on parts and expect it to work. Suspension is just like an engine, u cant put on a blower and not tune it, same with suspension u got to tweak it.

running a full slick.

28x10.5 tire

I will try more tire pressure but i really don't see that picking up my 60' much at , if at all. Like i said, the slick is already at 18 pounds.

honestly that tire IMO is to big and no needed for your power level...you'd go much faster on a 275 MT radial.

since your launching and bogging your not making enough power...time for some spray perhaps?

What Nimitz said, you have too much tire for your combo. What is your raceweight. To give you an idea, I could spray 150-200 shot on top of your combo with those 28x10.5's and it would go at least in the 1.4's.

if its dead hooking let air out to around 10# and let the tire "paddle" and get you some wheel speed.

I wouldn't do that plus lugging a 10psi 10.5 tire down the track will be alot to ask of a heads/ cam car, will kill his mph and probably isn't the safest thing either.

where'd you get that from anyway? Sounds like something that would work on a high hp car (1000hp and up), not for us mere mortals.

if he went from the 28" tall tire to a 26" one, how much do you think it would improve his e.t. assuming he still hooked w/out any problems?
