VHT+ ET Street's?
 

Well I bought some Trackbite last Friday and Ive heard many different ways to apply this stuff to your tires before you get into the staging lanes. Just wanna see what everyone else does?

i was told you dont want to put that stuff on your tires.

It's on the track, or should be. I always assumed that you'd spin/burn it all off during the burnout. I've never seen anyone use it when we race at the divisionals/nationals.

I did see in Hot Rod where a guy mounted a garden sprayer setup that would spay it on the street in front of his rear tires to "prep" the street for impromptu drag races.

get your suspension set up right and forget about that stuff

Alot of guys in Jersey use that stuff on the street...simply lay some down get the tires on it and do your burn out....get back in your groove and go....just don't launch in the puddle...works really well...has multiple car pulling the wheels on normal pavement....

My track (NHRA) uses only VHT, so no reason for it

Infact, if the even SEE you try to put anything on your tires, or on the track, even if it's VHT, they will throw your @$$ out faster than you know what happened.

I've seen it happen.

But, if your using it for "other purposes" or your track just doesn't care, I would think burnout, roll into it, spin on it for a second and go?

I personally don't know, but just trying to warn you some track officials might not like seeing that

we use that stuff all the time for street races.. err... i mean friendly competition :rolleyes:

usually bring out a garden sprayer and spray about a 30' patch in front of each of the tires. light it on fire to heat it up and once it goes it out it is sticky as all hell. It's like having a prepped track on the street. :D

Every application I have seen like that has gummed up the nozzle after a few uses (or even one use), even with a diluted concentration of track bite.

I have heard of people diluting it with alcohol. makes it dry faster and keeps the nozzle cleaner.. just a thought

Definitely, that's what I'm saying though.

Even with the dilution, it still gets gummed up fairly quickly, even with the perfect ratio of alcohol to track bite. I briefly entertained the idea of making a setup like this for fun, but got turned off after I spent an afternoon going through threads here.

I don't think there's any point to use it at the track, as tracks use VHT already.

We use it on the street a lot. It does make a big difference. Whenever we use it in a sprayer, we cut it 50/50 with mek or acetone. Make sure you wear gloves!

In the spur of the moment without any VHT on hand, we have also used Faygo red pop. Works just as well, but doesn't smell nearly as amazing as VHT does.
