Default Stock torque arm + Transbrake?

Will my stock torque arm hold up? Heres my setup below:

Full weight 2000 Fbody
Stock Internal '05 5.3L (probably 280rwhp)
Build full auto 4L80E with Jake's brake trans-brake
3600 stall (I've seen 3800 on the 'brake testing)
Aftermarket D/S
QP 9" with 3.00 gears 35 spline axles/spool
275/40-17 M/T DRs

If you are spending all that money on the other **** why not spend 3-500.00 on a decent torque arm?

To answer your question, it will probably fold in half possibly damaging your tranny and/or other drive line parts.

I'm gonna build one in the next few weeks, just haven't had time. Gonna build one since I have a QP 9" and I can get rid of the adapter for stock tq arms, and it will be similar to the Midwest Chassis TQ arm.

my buddy has a 6 speed formula with 400rwhp . 4.10 gears, cuts 1.64 60' on the stock tq arm. He does have lower control arms with poly bushings but thats it for rear suspention. We pulled the tranny out a few weeks ago and everything looked fine. His car weighs 3350 with him in it.

Yeah my thoughts exactly. I don't think a stock 5.3 will push my stock weight car below a 1.8 60'. Flashing the converter from idle when I had my LS1, it only went 1.90 60' (about 340rwhp at the time).

I like the rpms those gears give me on the hwy, plus planning for some boost in the near future.

Makes a lot of sense now. I think the stock torque arm would be fine for a bit IMO, but def. need to get one pretty soon. According to your current setup anyway

Only thing that broke was the A/C. Popped the o ring on the back of the compressor.

2.04 60' with some light under the driverside tire. Video later.

how do you get a tire to lift with a 2.04 60? sounds like you left pretty soft on the transbrake. footbrake should produce a lot better than that

Stock 5.3 with a 4L80, 3.00 gears in a 9 inch, and a full weight car (spare tire and all). Log says it went right to 6 mph then back to 2mph after the hit. Watching the replay im pretty sure it didnt spin.
