debating on going from M6 to A4/A3
ok my combo is 408/ m6 9 inch... and i cant get this bitch to leave to save its life... so i am thinking about ditching the m6 for an auto... how many of yall have done this? i went out on a 28x10.50 and was running .6 slower in the 1/8 on motor and havent sprayed it yet with the new plate kit.
best 1/8 n/a pass on a 26 was 7.41@96.65 and it had a 1.74 short time
right now on a 28 its 8.03@94.5 with a 2.3 60 foot.... so i am thinkin about going to a 26 again or ditching the m6 for an auto.. what do yall think
strang front adj with a 300lb liner spring
umi torwue arm with relocation
full umi rear susp (non adj lca)
9 inch with 3.90 and trutrack ( broke the trutrak on my last pass getting a spool)
stock rear springs and shocks
leaving at 5500 with 20lbs in the rear it would hook and BOGG so i either need to leave higher or smaller tire or taller gear what do yall think

What gear do you have in the rear?? I was pondering going the same route, goin from M6 to A3 but for slightly different reasons. You just have to take some time and dial everything in.

auto will be more consistent, but to me part of the fun is getting it to hook.
keep the 28's,ditch the 3.90's and run 4.11's, 4.30's (depending on rpms) and get a two step, makes it much more consistent to see what suspension changes are doing. with your setup and a rear drag bar you should be able to do 1.4's - 1.5's

Ditch the 6 speed. I run a A3 t400 with neal chance converter 3:73 gear and a 15x10.50 et drag. 28 inch tall tire. My set up runs perfect. I also run 315lb qa srping on the front.
But my car is a track only and a few car shows. Esp with the nitrous stall

i have 28" tires, 411s stock suspenion and am cam only and have no problem hooking and going 1.6X consistantly. I come out around 5600 and it just straight goes. Try coming out of the whole a little harder and maybe staying into the clutch a bit to keep it from bogging. There is no reason you shouldnt be hooking, you either need the driver mod or more practice
:edit: i also have 17 lbs in the tires, at 20 they were un predictable and i hated them

if you got the gear in there for the spray, spray that bitch!
your just kicking yourself in the *** trying to get the car to work, then spraying it. it changes everything. if your wanting the car to work on spray, work with that.
I had to launch 7200-7500 with I had just 4.30 gears to keep the car from falling on its face.
