Need some Kirkey's help! There are a ton of options for kirkey seats to go in an F-body, so I have some questions that I am not finding the answers for. What height should I be looking for or limited to? What depth " "? And the layback degree? Or is that preference? I am also 5'8 @ 170lbs w/ a 32ish waist, it seems from what I have found that a 17" seat is for 200lbs+ and a big waste. Ideas? Thanks. |
Get 17" wide. I'm 6'1" 170 lbs and they fit me fine. Remember that you need to account for padding, clothing, etc. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/KIR-41700/ And brackets: http://www.madmanandcoracing.com/sho...spx?itemid=143 |
You will need a 17. Im at 5'7 170 with a 30" waist. But you will also need to measure your hip line mainly. IF your more bottom thick then you will need a 17 or 18. |
I'm 6'3 260 (and dropping, was 290) and I have the 17 inch wide pro street, # 41700. They were tight, but they're getting to the point that I fit in them good. You skinny guys could probably go with a 15 and be o.k., and a 15 fits in the car alot easier fwiw. |
It sounds like the 41700 is common. What aboud depth and such? |
I find the seat plenty deep, like I said I'm bigger then most and I fit in it fine. I mounted mine right on the floor on the back 2 studs, and leaned them back until I was comforable, and had the cage mounts built to come forward to the seat. Solid mounted, and they fit great IMO. |
JL I went with the 15 " it was way to small, and im same width as the op.The 17" ones fit me just right like a glove. |
6-0, 175 the 17s are good, for all around. I can still barley get my wallet out with the harness off. But when it cold out, Im snugg with jacket. The 16 would be snugg for a track car, I would get them if the car was on a trailored ect. |

i'd rather have a wider seat than a seat that's too tight... I'm 6'2" 240ish with WIDE shoulders and 33" waist and the 18" is decently comfortable. |

What part number are yours? And your p/n? I guess the 41700, I bought one used from a friend but would want to 16 if my car was fast. The layback was the normal 18* I think all the prodrag come. The other is the eccomy with the bigger sides I htink you can get in 20- and 18*?. |

i don't have the drag seat like everyone else, its some fancy $400 one. if you can sit in one before you buy it, i'd suggest seeing whats comfortable to you. if not, 15 inch will fit you and a 16 inch will give you wiggle room. i drive in mine every day and the only time it annoys me is when i go on drives longer than 1.5 hours, my legs get a little restless and i just scoot up a hot minute. recline angle is up to you. check what you like in your stock seat. i prefer a straighter back but others like to lean. |
