Default 6spd guys, ET Drag psi?

Hey guys I'm heading to the track this weekend and haven't had a lot of time to experiment with tire psi. What are you 6spd guys running for psi in 28" ET Drags. Last year I cut my best 60' at 10 psi cold but it was late in the season and track prep was horrible.

Here's a basic run down on the car

Cam only
M6
9" w/4:30s
Full UMI front/rear suspension
Strange DAs in front and SAs in the rear
Front ext at 0 comp at 6 rears set a 6
2-step set between 6000-6700
28" ET Drags
Race weight around 3100-3200???

I mean you need to find what is best for you and that can swing between 11-14. i would no go below 11 IMO. Was the 2 step set up on the car last year?? Does the car have a stock rear sway??

2-step was on the car last year and I was running a stock rear bar. I've got a UMI drag bar on the car now. I realize not every car is going to be identical. I guess I'm more or less looking for a starting point.

I would start off at 12 and work your way down but no less then 9 psi. before burnout. Let me know how it runs. Mines getting a touch up on the tune and hope to make it out next sunday.

I'd go as high as you can without getting excessive wheel spin. You want a little spin to get your wheel speed up. Especially with the T56 and the 2.66 low gear. You're probably making more power than me, but mine are at 14 to 14 1/2. I'm also closer to 3500 lbs. Like the other guy said you could start at 12 and if you dead hook, add a half pound or so. Keep doing that until you spin a little.

next time you go to the track see if you can get a decent vid of the launch. it really helps to see what the car is doing and adjust accordingly. helped me alot

Thanks guys, fwiw here's a vid of my 11.25 pass last year. Doesn't really seem like the car is spinning tires and this was at 10psi cold. I'm gonna start at 13psi cold on Sat and go from there.

Ok I definately could've used more psi last year. You can tell from these two vids that the car bogs on the launch. Guess I should've done more homework lol. I was so busy sorting out 2-step/shock setting last year that I tottally over looked how I was hitting the tires.

One thing to keep in mind, no matter what there is a fine balance between the 60 foot and the back half of the track. I mean if 1 psi makes a 1/2 tenth diff in the 60 foot but if the slightly harder tire picks up 2-3 mph may be a deciding factor.

Also to keep in mind track prep, and track temp can be a big factor.

Edit I was making this post before you got the other 2 vids in but you can hear the rpm drop but also the tires pick up nicely.
