Default Noob question about motor plates.

I saw a guy running a front motor plate with no rear motor plate. He was using the trans mount to hold everything up in the back. So it was just a front motor plate and a rear trans mount in the back. Is this safe or was his stuff just ghetto rigged? I would think you would have to have a mid plate.

A mid plate is nice to have u nder about 600 RWHP. over that is is a must have. You can run just front plates on a milder setup. Either way an engine limiter is a good idea.

Good deal Steve. Thanks. I am eyeing your plates right now. I will for sure buy them when I finish up my motor.

I ran a motor plate with no mid plate, and ran a lateral limiter on the engine. Did it that way for over 100 passes, no problems. Poly tranny mount in the back..

water pump, I ran a mez. race pump, little longer bolts, and a gasket on both sides of the motor plate. No problems.

Myself, I wouldn't recommend a front plate without a mid plate.

We had a friend run a front plate with no mid plate in his bracket car. Lent him a powerglide and it tore the case into about 50 little pieces in 30 passes.
