does the little black box actually serve any other purpose other than connecting the 4 coolant hoses and sending back to the radiator? I hate how it just sits there like that. I would be more interested if I could get him to use different length hoses to push it back under the cowl.. that would be way cleaner looking. Plus different options for hose/fitting color would be nice.

DJ, that's all the black box does, just a junction block to take it from the 4 lines into 1 line.

Yeah the lines that came with it are pretty tight on my fast 92. I tried different spots for the lines and decided I liked this location the best. I would have gotten black lines if they offered them. Maybe I'll get some later and make my own.
Since it would have helped them blend in, but those still looked fine because I have a black and silver theme in my engine compartment.

I finally got to go for a test drive today and I have one hose that I need to get recrimped because it leaks a bit. Other then that it did fine on the street.

Default Update

I finally got to drive around today. Cylinder #8 was 10 to 20 degrees cooler then it was before I installed it. So now my aftermarket gauge only when up to 220-230 on that cylinder on my 70 mile round trip drive. That was through city traffic and a short 13 mile (eachway) highway run.

This truly helps alot, and was a great investment.

Default hose size

what size hose did you use from the box to the radiator? i just installed one on my build. The stock hose i had was 5/16? and from the pics looks like you have 1/4 line? whats the metal piece inbetween the hoses over the radiator?

I did run 1/4" line from the box. The metal piece is an adaptor to connect it to the stock line going into the radiator.

Yes, but with a Fast intake its just not enough room. Seen ppl smash them down to fit the fast but i wasnt about to take the chance cracking that bastard. Also with that installed its the highest poing of the cooling system. I have no trouble bleeding the air out with it. So with a ls6 intake I wouldnt buy one your good to go.

they make a bracket now that puts it off to the side of the intake which I have painted already......and its cleaner looking. The thing to have would be Black SSB lines. I am running mine into a bung on the radiator instead of tapping the water pump. He wants the collection block up high like that because it make the kit more efficient somehow, or at least thats what he told me. Its not like the box looks bad, but I can certainly understand wanting to lines to be invisible I will see how it looks and then make changes later on as I go.

Mine had the mounting bracket too. But the lines weren't long enough to use it. The way I ran them was all I could do with it.

I just ordered this system online, including the bracket and upgraded lines. Looking forward to setting it up on a 2013 LS3 that is going into my old LS1 sedan. Turbo.
