Kirkey Seats
This looks to be the best Kirkey- feature wise.
My questions are:
Which brackets, or fabricated brackets?
My preference is to sit up straight, and forward.
This appears to have a "layed back" cant to it.
Anyone use these seats???

The Bull
By far one of the lightest and most comfortable ones out there. I like mine quite a bit. Mine is all the way back and lays rather flat with the seat pan to the floor. The back is raked back enough to make it very comfortable. Harlan runs his like a lazyboy. As far as brackets go, most people have had to fabricate some of their own for the seat and another bracket to tie the back into the cross bar of the rollcage. I'm not sure if you have a cage or not, but it will add a lot of support to the seat.

Mount them to the stock base, that is what I did.
I have the electric seats and have retained all the comfort for long trips,300 miles in a DRAG RACE configured seat gets tiring.
It is nice to be able to lean back on the highway or move it up for the switchbacks.

I was just fixing to order the seats so I'll save the $100 for the mounts and just use mine..
Thanks Again

www.kirkeyracing.com has a order form that explains now to measure.
I just ordered 2 seats (41700) and two gray seat covers cloth (41717) from Jegs, $418 to my door. I plan to have custom brackets made otherwise I think the seats will put me up too high from what I have heard.

To measure your butt sit on something where your feet don't touch like a bench or table. Take two cement blocks or something like them boxed and place them on each side snug and then stand up. Measure the width. I'm 6-0 220 and use 17" wide. I made brakets for the vette C5 if you need pictures

They bolt up very well[I have the 15" small butt model],only thing is you need to make an extension for the back of the base frame.
You bolt or weld the extension on the base and bolt the back of the seat onto the extension ,the reason for this is the base is quite small and bolts to the front and MIDDLE of the stock seats,I used the extension to have the rear of the Kirkey firmly anchored.
Sorry no pictures of it,but the plate is 16" wide by 10"long.
It is a very very solid mount, used a plate to sandwich the seat between the base and the bolt heads so in case of an accident the seat doesn't just rip at the bolt holes.

I also have the pro 17" in my car and I love it .. I had Bob over at NRC motorsports make me up a bracket. I don't understand why anyone would want to use their stock bracket from the orignal seat? The reason for a race seat is to save weight. with the factory bracket your not going to save all that much weight
