Shouldnt take more than about 30 minutes.....you wont need a belt..its on its own pulley..I would say about 30lbs in savings

It all depends on what a/c componets you want to remove. I went ahead and removed everything on my car, to take the accumulator/compressor/and the lines loose your looking at about 30 minutes to an hour and you would probably lose 20-30lbs. Its not that hard to do, a few of the bolts on the compressor are hard to get at but other than thats its nothing major. My condensor will be coming out when i do my h/c install and that will probably be another 10lbs. or so. I also went ahead and removed my e-core as well as the heater core. This is where it gets time consuming as you have to pull out the entire dash to get the cores out, and the box that the e-core is in is a real PITA to get out. These componets probably shaved off another 10lbs, and not to mention a much cleaner looking engine bay.

Yeah the compressor runs off of its own belt, you don't have to do anything else then just remove the a/c stuff you don't want.
