Default First N2o pass with the A3 and almost wrecked

First Nitrous pass with the A3. New PB in the car but what a disaster. Almost wrecked bad on the big end when a pressed it heater hose fitting came loose.

Started of with instant wheel spin and shot left got totally off the gas straightened it out, got it going and was flying until about 1000ft then it was like an ice rink. If you look real close you can see the tail lights start to sway then a cloud of smoke and it got real scary. Wonder what it would have ran on a clean pass with a 1.4 60ft. Cant really see how bad it was in the vid but here it is.

So my question would be why did you go ***** out on your first nitrous pass and not do some 330 hits (on nitrous) and shut down. The analyze and make adjustments.

If I am wrong, please correct me but it seems like you knew the car was not recovering but wanted to know the 1/4 mi ET more then worrying about you or the other driver. Now granted, some of it can be the track, could be the pavement temp, could fluids that have spilled but seems to me is that you pushed it and it scared you.

I'll check the vid when I get home but I forgot what type of tire you are running. So maybe its a good time to refresh everyone on what the set up is.

I expect you will figure it out, and probably will do it soon, just don't want you to get hurt.

I had 2 NA passes that went just fine straight as an arrow.
The nitrous pass was the last pass of the night and it broke loose I recovered and then it was going great until i puked coolant all over the back tires. Its not the cars first time on spray just the first time with the new trans. It has never done that on the top end. I also took out the 200 jets and went with a 150shot.

Take it for what it is, you changes the transmission which a major change to the set up. IF your not making suspension adjustments, your asking for a major disaster.

I would be working on the first 330 feet and then worry bout the 1/4.

I am sure others will have an opinion, mine comes froma guy much smarter then me but helped me to not just know how something works, but why and when it does not, what do you do to fix it.

So let us know what happens.

Set up is Strange DAs with 300# springs, UMI upper and lower A-arms, and tubular k-member up front, SFCs. Rear is UMI chassis mount adj TA,drag bar, ADJ LCAs, LCA relos, adj PHB. Madman AFCO DAs, Hotchkis 1" drop springs and MT 275/60-15 DRs. Also has a 6pt roll bar.

The main prob was the 2 gallons of coolant that I lost on the big end from the heater hose fitting coming out of the water pump.

Two previous NA passes were bottom 1.6 wheels up launches and the chassis was working great.

The 60 sucked on the spray pass since it blew the tires but that wasnt the main problem. The big end was.

I see a 10 second pass in your very near future. Crazy time for that water pump to give up the ghost. Glad you handled it.

Thanks and I was dumbfounded when I found the problem. There is a factory pressed in fitting for the heater hose that just came out of the pump. I could pull it out and push it back in with my finger. This was a newer AZ pump that I just used the housing to put my EWP on.

Not on the bottle. I use a Dig 6 for timing, a stand alone fuel system, Br7s, and a AEM wide band, Nano and Nitrous outlet plate system is on the car.

he blew off a heater hose fitting. that was why things went pear shaped. wasnt caused by nitrous.
