Are rod end LCA's THAT bad??
 

For a 75% track/25% street, weekend warrior, how manageable are rod end LCA's and panhard bar? Anyone put a set on a car they street drive on the weekends?

Currently, i have some old School lakewood boxed LCA's, and want something a little more drag oriented.
I'm considering making my own double Adjustable LCA's, I've for everything I need(DOM tube, 4140 round for the threaded inserts, 3/4-16 LH tap, etc) just need to buy the rod ends is all.

Any input, fellas?

They are a bit noisy over bumps at times. Like a rattle from a old worn out shock but it's not bad at all. I notice the sounds but my wife doesn't. If I get rid of my current lca I'll go to a rod end style.

it's not bad. I have them in my fair weather daily

just swapped from bmr rubber/poly bushing to a UMI double adj rod ended LCA. mine rattle a bit over bumps. my exhaust is so loud its hard to tell the differnce.

75% track then get the rod ends for sure.

I had them on my daily driven TA, really not bad at all.

my car is 80% street and 20% track and ive had all rod ends on the rear for 5+ years. mine have been quite for about a year, a little noisy for about a year, then replaced after two years driving about 3-4k per year

They're not bad and mine is all solid

I was curious about these too but mine is a DD more than strip.

I MIGHT put 1k miles a year on the car, and another 10mi worry of track passes.
So long as it's not something that I'll hear/feel rattling constantly going down the road, I can deal with it. Had a Jegs torque arm on the car for years with a 6spd and it sucked, but I dealt with it.

If you have decent roads I don't think you'll mind. We have some nasty roads so it does get a bit noisy hitting bumps and potholes......I'm also running a anti-roll drag bar as well so that may be some of it but running it on the highway it stays pretty quiet

I've had dual rod-ended rear LCA's and panhard in my daily driver for years, doesn't see the strip but did see autocross duty for most of those years. Never had to replace the panhard rod ends, but I use F.K. Bearings P/N JM12T & JML12T (~@$25) when I replace the LCA rod ends.

I bought but haven't installed some Seals-It rod end seals to try to keep crap out of the bearings the next time I replace them. Of course, I'm in Florida and the roads are pretty good where I drive so the noise/vibration aren't bad.

A little clanky but I got used to it.

I don't notice any difference.
