Default Cutting up a Stock Trans Am Hood

Anyone ever cut a stock t/a hood to make a Super Victor and 4150 tb work?
I'm talking about cutting a hole out at the cowl area so it will fit over the intake and tb. And also get air to it as well.

If its a real factory ws6 hood i'd say go get an aftermarket one and cut it instead. Factory hood worth too much money imo to cut.

Nobody?
This will be a experiment.
Thinking about putting a forward facing scoop over the hole.
Kind of like a Pro Stock look.
Then if it looks and performs good getting a 'glass hood done.

i called the dealer the other day. asked him what a new hood would cost me.

This is what he told me

They are no longer available.
They were $2300 brand new unpainted.

More than enough reason to buy a VFN hood and put the other on a wall somewhere and put it back on for barret jackson in 30 years when these cars are outlawed and worth millions aka a loaf of bread and a few cups of water.

My old Camaro..... I know not transam, hood was cut and done with a big hornet sorta scoop.

Only thing I found was the hole ends up being right through the back edge of the bonnet and windshield cowel area and flexed around alittle when opened, due to the weight I think.

Yeah, That's what I'm wondering about, how much flex it will have.
Any old pics?

To be honest, I think if your always cautious of abit of movement you'll be fine. The scoop does add some rigidity.

Did some digging on an old pic......
