If you have a weight distrubuting hitch a TBSS will drag a SSS all over the place. If you havent driven a SSS they are heavy as hell and generally just giant pigs, whereas teh TBSS is a nimble and light vehicle in comparison. I tow a 10k# capacity trailer and a S300 bobcat with my TBSS and a good distributing hitch sometimes. We are talking close to 10000# behind this thing and it doesnt have a problem with it.
I have also had my 3200# camaro on a 1500# trailer behind it and you barely know its back there.

didnt read the other comments but i used to tow my car on an open trailer with my 2wd tbss and it pulled great i had no complaints, but when i got my 10 5.3 silverado i started using it and although it didnt have as much power i liked the way it handled the car better. i now have a 11 6.2 silverado and tow a 24' enclosed with the car and i would never think about doing that with the tbss. an open car hauler and 3500lb fbody is the max i would put behind a tbss

I think I might just try towing with the tbss this year and see how it does. Do you guys recommend trailer brakes?

My TBSS towed like there was nothing back there.

Silverado SS runs mid 15's, TBSS I went 13.83 bone stock in mine. I can't daily drive anything in the 14's or 15's.

Electric brakes are necessary.

Looks like I'll be buying a brake controller and a tranny cooler for the tbss this year.

Wow thread-from-the-dead. I tow vehicles with my TBSS regularly. The 4.10 gears and auto-leveling suspension make it a great tow rig in my opinion.

I have towed with my 2006 AWD TBSS for 2 seasons now. I tow an open wood deck trailer with the Camaro on it. It has plenty of power to tow. The load leveling with the air bags that comes stock is great. The only thing that I recommend is you get a brake controller and have electric brakes on the trailer. The TBSS doesn't weigh as much as a full size truck and stopping going down hills is sketchy with no trailer brakes. It really beats up your trucks brakes trying to stop all that.
