WHY...im getting low 14 times and im not stock
I cant fiqure this out, im punching my quarter mile times and im consistantly getting low 14 #'s 14.2, 14.4, 14.3, etc...Ive had my trans am for half a year and my times arent dropping all that much
I got some slp longtube headers and threw codes left and right, ive installed a K&N and ive got flowmaster exahaust...I had misfireing problems so I replaced all my plugs and wire's and im still running consistantly bad times
Im not the best but i keep thinking something is very wrong any idea's
Also i have awful traction problems at the track, 1st gear is almost useless becasue of my traction problems...But im also hauling it because my E.T. are always over 105...but my times are low 14's
I hope im a bad driver and that somethings not wrong...any input???
-bad traction?, new clutch?, new tires? any input is appreciated

The first line of business is fixing the traction issue. Without traction you're just...spinning your wheels. At least get some drag radials. Set the PSI at 20-22 and get 'em good and smokin' hot! A set of LCA relocators might not be a bad idea either. Set them on the lowest position. Now, practice, practice, practice! Ok, now you're solidly in the 13s.
I'm not a fan of the SLPs. Those curves hurt power. They are a gimmick, IMO. Of course they should make alot better power than stock but they aren't going to make the power of QTPs or Kooks.
The Flowmaster exhaust likely flows WORSE than stock. You need a cuttout.
A K&N filter is NOT a performance mod. It will not effect the HP of the engine.
Autotap data? You could be getting a ton of knock retard and/or your fuel mixture may be way off.

14s with a 02' is pretty bad.
I went my first time ever and did a crappy 2.2 60 ft but still did 13.5 in the 1/4 mile at 103 with a spin at the beginning. I am hoping for a better launch and a better 60 ft or 2.0 at least and to get 13.1 in the 1/4.
Anyhow, the 14s on a 00' or later is surprising to what I have read and seen...
