Track Results.. 120.5 MPH NA SI
Last friday I ran the car at an HP Tuners sponsored event.
Previous Best:
1.503 7.152@93.95 11.324@117.19 Mid 40's, dry, good weather
Changed:
26" QTP to a 28" ET Drag
HAL R's in front.
BMR K-Member/A-Arms
Race Elec Water Pump
Manual Brake Conversion
Strang front drag brakes
Pulled x-pipe and muflers
Removed MAF and Air Filter (ran Open TB with speed density)
1.598 7.232@95.15 11.343@119.64 upper 70's, Humid, 1800 DA
I couldn't hook at all and spun every pass. I did trap 120.5 on my very first pass and I even hit the rev limiter on the 2-3 shift, just watch the vid.
The weather wasn't ideal racing weather for sure and even 60' a tenth slower I still came very close to my old best. I cut consistant mid 1.6's and ran 11.4's@119
I am VERY confident if I can actually HOOK the car and race in good weather, add the 90mm LSX and some more fine tuning with our new wide band O2 setup HP Tuners is working on, that I can definately hit a 10 sec pass.
I'm going to stay 10 bolt as long as possible.. I'll try and cut those door bars out soon.. I'm not sure if I'll hit 10's this spring but I will be racing the car next weekend at a better track to see what I can run. I'm sure I can at least beat 11.2's.. but time will tell.

There are some vids of the car there. I was doing excessive burnouts to see if I could actually HOOK the car.. Tires where at 15psi hot.

Great the SI list keeps gettin lower Congrats man. I have been thinking of forgetting the SI and putting a cam in. Now it looks like a good idea because there is no way I'm going to catch up. I would like to get in the top 5 though(currently 10) before I do the cam swap.

Keith,
I was at the same event and the traction really sucked. Mid way through the day my slicks had seen better days so i had the onsite tire store replace them and it didnt help. I think all the front wheel drive cars and street tires drug water onto the track.
Keith and i were both hoping for 10's. My car weighs in at 3860 with me in it. Keiths car is awsome
Im racing keith in one of those videos I spun so bad off the line the car went sideways so i backed out and coasted to a 19 sec quarter

Congrats on breaking the 120mph mark through the traps. It is no easy task for a stock internal car (I know, I was the first to do it 2 years ago ) keep up the good work, if you want it bad enough and the weather is right you will get your 10 second SI slip

Man I let this topic slip... been too busy.
Ray, great meeting you at IDD. Man where was traction that day!
Gator, A4 with a YPT4400 unlocked
Brandon, no clue what RWHP is.. but we will be dynoing the car when the 90mm stuff goes on it.. I believe current record is low 11.2.
I just got back from testing on the car.. I'm tweaking my part throttle tune in Speed Density with some new products we're coming out with but because the car still is open headers and the O2's are so close to the exits, the o2's where being contaminated by outside air and i could barely get the thing to even idle.. man my eyes are shot from fuel stench. One of my slicks is completely deflated too. :-/
I MIGHT hit the track this weekend, we'll see. I have no problem waiting until the fall to try for more #'s.. I have a bunch of stuff to do for HP Tuners for the time being to keep me busy.
I will defiantely keep you guys posted. One thing I'm really looking forward to is the dyno results with the 90mm LSX intake.
