Default Were to run, stickier track or better DA???

Lil dilemma, want to make some runs Sunday with my new nto5rs! I can go to Byron who normally has a nice prepped track, or Great Lakes who has so so prep! Great Lakes will be anywhere from 1600-2100 DA and Byron 2000-2500 on race day! I have no idea were I would have the best chance to run the fastest!

I'd choose the better prepped track ..if there was a bigger difference in DA then I'd reconsider.

Exactly. The da difference is minimal. Just as reference this season I have run 11.57 @ -150 to a 11.83 @ +2200 so the difference in da you're looking at isn't much. I'd rather go where I have the better chance of hooking regardless of the da.

Very general rule of thumb is 0.1 and 1mph every 1000ft density altitude for an N/A car, turbo/supercharged cars about half of that

Maybe what I'll do is wait till morning and check DA. If GLD is 1200 and 41 is like 2000 already I might go to GLD, if there close then Ill go to 41 with the better track. I heard week days at GLD is been pretty lame for prep so that would suck!

So with the close DA your looking at if you can drop your 60 a tenth or 2 youll be better off with a good launch, plus a good launch is much more fun than a higher trap speed, the throw you back in your seat fun factor off a good launch is second to none. In my M6 doing a 6500 dump having my rear view mirror and visor turn down and my garage door openor fly past my right hand from the dash storage hole into the backseat is priceless

If you are using Nittos, you need to run at the track with the best traction.

Byron > GLD > 41 any day

With how close they are in location I would see it hard for the two to vary in actual DA that much unless one of them was built on a mountain. Even if DA did vary that much, still the better track would be worth it.
