Head's up Drag Racing
 

I'm entering in an event this weekend with old fashion head's up rules. No lights just a flagman. This is my first time in an event like this and was hoping you guys could give me some pointers, tips, or tricks. My goal is to not get eliminated on the first round. PM me if you don't want everyone to know.

Before you race I'd watch the flagman and get use to watching his arms drop.

Take out as much useless stuff out of your car as you can! lol
Play some reaction time games on the internet?

Since it's not bracket type racing I'm talking more along the lines of strategy, like holding back a little, what to watch for in your opponent, etc... You're allowed to go under your dial time by up to 5 tenths of a second. I'm afraid I will get smoked by someone sandbagging on the first round and I'm not sure how to handle this.

Dial in 4-5 tenths high and run it all out? Just my guess :lol:

How do you have a dial if its a flag start?

You still use the beams for time and speed just no tree.
