They will only help on hot or cold, slick tracks.
Most cars I run with, and running those kinds of times, 60' almost a tenth quicker than that. A guy I race with runs a higher class SS car than I do runs 9.teens to 9.30s goes high 1.teens to very low 1.20s.
Your going enough MPH to go 8.90s.
Whose converter you using?

Where I run, the fastest guys most always have an ATI or A1. I've tried about everything but a PTC, ATI has been quickest for mine. A1 real close. Nothing else close. Most SS guys test everything looking for an edge (That's what God made track rentals for), most that do test a lot end up with ATI or A1. Since they work with more serious racers, they have more R&D data than anybody else.
I have customers with PTC converters, and may be racing some I don't know of.
Dead hooking with 1.30 60's, I'm assuming it's NA, and running that kind of MPH, something at launch is out of whack.
If he had to spray it to run that fast, never mind.

Will the v6 spring lower the car any? I have a 98 Z28 and I'd like to get the rear of the car about 1/2"-1" lower. I have Strange double adjustable shocks on the rear and Strange singles w/ 275lb spring in the front. I'd rather not buy lowering spring, adjustable coil overs or cut the stock springs.

I've already done the heater hose deal. car still needs to go down a little bit more. If I can get the car a little lower and use the benefits of the v6 springs on the hot and sometimes not well prepped track than the v6 springs would be a win-win for me.

I when to a local salvage yard today and got a pair of springs. I took my calipers with me, from looking at and measuring several different 3rd gen and earlier 4th gen F-bodys the stock v6 springs have the same wire diam and height. .03 doesn't seem like a big difference but the v6 spring definitely compress easier.
For others information
v6 wire measured .46"
my 98 Z28 measured .49"
v8 springs are 14.5" tall
v6 springs are 15" tall
The springs did exactly what I wanted dropped the car down 5/8".
