A4 with 4.10's???

A4 with 4.10's??? On a stock vehicle, will I run outta gear and shift into overdrive?

I pulled my moser 12 bolt from one of my other cars, and was thinking about putting it on my new car. Just wonder if it is pointless if I bring it to the track.

You will most definitly run out of gear unless you run a 27'' tire.

I have an auto with 4:10's and I ran out of gear before I reached the end of the quarter mile. How much it is costing me, I don't know. I realized that my car needs tunning to adjust the MPH in third to prevent shifting. My car was tuned for 3:73's. The 3:73's would most likely be the best gear for track and street, plus it is easier to adjust at track for a stock LS1. I do assume your guestion relates to the stock LS1. The bigger tire on your car will add weight to your car and gets bigger at the end of the track. I run MT slicks--15X10X26. I plan on running a smaller slick such as a nine inch or 8 inch in hoosiers and have the car tuned and gear selector adjusted. If I may be of futher assistance, just let me know. cheers and good luck.......

So, I should just hold off on installing the rear end until I can afford 3.73's the way it sounds. It'll probably be a lot easier to do with the rear out of the car.
My assumption is that this car will be the same way, but when I put the rear in my LT1's, I was really close to the gas tank. Will the same fuel pump work with this car? I know I won't have the mods to need another fuel pump, but should I just put that and a regulator in, simply because im right there?

i used to have a 87 iroc with a 700R A4, 4.10s, and 26' slicks. that 3.06 first gear sure is killer on the spray. i had an alsome hole shot and even took out a couple of A4 LS1s out of the hole with that combo. but with the 305ci TPI and a 150 shot i ran out of gear at the 1/8. at then i would just let off and step on the brakes and say the race was over hehe.

Stick with 3.73s until you get a big cam for the car because on stock internals it's pointless to go that big since the motor peaks around 6200 rpms. I shift at 6600 rpms and cross around 6600-6700 rpms on a 6900 rpms rev limiter.
