Default I took the car to Norwalk last week

I took the car to Norwalk last wed night. The car made it down the whole 1/4 without breaking up.

The new tune is very conservative. They took lots of timing out for now so it may have hurt my 60' somewhat but hey, I'm racing again. The track prep wasn't great either because it was high school night and the cars were dragging water up to the launch pad. There were only about 4 or 5 race cars there.

1.359
9.940
134.31

1.366
9.922
134.67

Nothing impressive but not bad for some shakedown passes.

The DA was +1,500 and my race weight is about 3,300.

I made 2 passes then went home.

I'm going to PRP tonight for TNT and Friday night for some bracket racing.

I'll use the data from these 2 race days to determine a possible gear change, timing change and to set the suspension up.

Good luck to everyone going to the races this week.

Looks like you have a Super Gas Hot Rod on your hands.

Thanks Coach. The car runs pretty good for a 421 N/A iron block motor. Last year my ET's would have been impressive but this year they are just OK. There are SOOO many fast cars now pushing the envelope.

there is nothing "OK" about a 9.9x pass at 3300 lbs! congrats and great 60' for a marginal track. times will fall with good air and a better track! looks like you make the power.

I totally agree with that....that thing is putting some torque down to move 3300lbs...

Thanks for the kind words everyone I'm going to launch off the 2 step and brake tonite. I'll start at 3200 rpms

Joe, your right about the torque. It has plenty of that. The engine made 575 fpt on the engine dyno and 540 RWHP SAE corrected and 551 RWHP standard corrected on the chassie dyno a few weeks ago. The power is there but I need to lighten up. I'm going to give Roger a call I go 240 so I could trim down abit myself. NAAA i'll give Roger a call

Dean, see you at the track. you going?

Tom,nice runs bud.Good to hear that it ran the 1/4 with no break up.I sure think that a bit more tune will lower those ET's.

nice runs Tom. Those may be ho-hum compared to the "envelope" you mentioned, but personally I think a 9 second N/A car is impressive anyway you cut it! Congrats, and hope you continue to whittle the times down!

Thanks Pete. Lets do it soon. When are you coming out this way? The race tracks are slower but hey, we would have fun

Thanks Taner and yes that is N/A. Funny you ask because everyone at the track asks how big a shot I'm running. They are suprised when I say none it's N/A

Thanks Derek, I'll keep pushing that envelope. It will be aweful hard to keep up with the shop cars though. Man they are quick.

Thanks Coach but the rain just won't quit coming down. I didn't go to the races last night because of severe weather reports and it looks like it didn't rain at the track I did the same thing Wed. night for TNT. Its 100 miles 1 way to the track so I'm really selective on the weather days. Especially with the fuel prices it costs me $60 round trip to the track.

Last year every time I took a chance I got burned and this year I'm gun shy on the weather and I'm still getting burned.

Oh well, next week.

How about you Coach? Were are you racing?

Tom
