Default How much power to trap 116

I recently built a new motor for my car, including PP LS6 style heads and the 231/237 cam. It was tuned by a very reputable tuner. It is an M6 on street tires, and race weight was 3685. It was running consistent mid 116 mph traps, and 89 in the 1/8. That seems low to me. With stock heads, a little TR220 cam, and basically no tuning it ran 90 in the 1/8 and 114.5 in the 1/4.

I would like some thoughts and opinions as to what it should be trapping. I am not worried about the slow ET's as the car has a stiff autox/RR suspension and a light flywheel/clutch.

well lets see you ended in 3rd hitting off the rev limiter so we'll start there, whats your rev limiter & where are you shifting? 3.42 gears i assume, and you bogged off the line...you probably lost some mph by bogging off the line, another 1-3mph can be made with 4.10 gears & have your shift points at 6600 or higher to be effective with a cam that peaks @ 6300.

Car still has 3.42's, limiter is at 7000, I was shifting at ~6700. The car is not set up for drag racing, and I have not done much drag racing in the past 5 years. Weather was about 90º and a little humid.

In good weather (50s no humidity) my car traps around 117 with 400 RWHP. That is at 3650# raceweight - you gotta factor that too!

In 90 degrees and humidity, I am trapping 114ish.
