Default MWC Manual Rack with UMI K Member

Was wondering if anyone out there has both of these components together,
I was looking to buy one and I was told by MWC that they couldn't guarantee that it would fit, So if anyone can help out with some answers to this would be great. Car is an 00 WS6 if that matters. Thx

We personally haven't tried to install our kit on the UMI k-member is the reasoning behind this. Our manual rack conversion setup is designed to be installed on a k-member with the oem power rack mounts in the oem positions. If that k-member had a oem power rack on it already it *should* work.

The K member has the stock rack on it now, so with that it might possibly work? I would love to try out the product out, if I were to order this, and it didn't work, might I be able to return the product?

I can't imagine it not working. I have it on an AJE K member made for the stock rack. The mount moves the rack forward from the K member.

I just wouldn't see why it shouldn't fit either, did u have to mod anything or did it all work?

It fits pretty well. It was a little to thick were it goes into the k member mounts and I had to trim it down. Other than that no problems.

If the stock rack will fit then our conversion package should be no problem. The adapter bracket is setup at the same dimensions as the oem rack at the mounting points, including the sleeve that the bolt goes through so no trimming should be required.

Returns are no problems with an authorization, but if you are doing a simple oem power rack to our full manual kit conversion then there should be no issues requiring returns.

Does anyone know what kind of weight savings a manual rack has over a factory power rack?

I don't believe the rack is where u save most of the weight from. It's in the pump, lines and fluid. I bet a good 20 lbs maybe a tad more

The rack itself is like 12 pounds, I believe the entire swap is about 25.

What do you do with the pulley? Run an idler?

I'd like to know also.

I'm still on the fence about the swap. I drive the car on the street still and I don't know if I'll miss the power steering

There is a thread on here somewhere with a pic. But you can swap the idler on the alternator mount for a ribbed one and run a short belt.

U can bypass the pwr steering pump and use a smaller belt.
