First run with Vig3200 = 11's I'm still in shock. I was expecting 12.3 or maybe 12.2's. Previous best with the stock TC was an underachieving 12.75 with a 8.25 @ 3525lbs. But the car had run several 8.1's in lighter form. Since then, other mods are !MAF ends and MAFT, and put the descreened stock ends back on(slightly polished), ported TB, Pro-Stars w/radials up front, ET Streets on stockers, !seats. Weight was 3390 with me in it. Had the shift points at +2 and 0. The TC had only been in the car for 5 days. Here's the list of mods: Lid, FRA, Fernco, polished descreened MAF, ported/polished TB, TB bypass, Holley filter, ported/c-coated MAC headers, custom 3" Y-pipe, !catback, MAC LCA's, MAC P-rod, MAC subframes, HPP3 - rev 6400 1-2 +2 2-3 -, 180 Tstat, stock tuning. Short-belt. 1.67 7.61 @ 90.00 11.992 @ 112.3 Second run, I took out about 20 lbs of junk and was down to 3370, but spun to a 1.8 60' and ran a 12.25 @ 112. I might have some more room for improvement on the 1-2 shift point - it still seemed early at +2, but the 2-3 looked pretty good. This converter ROCKS! [ February 04, 2002: Message edited by: Lane ]
|

Re: First run with Vig3200 = 11's nice runs, nice raceweight too. What do you think the car would run with exhaust on it? |
Re: First run with Vig3200 = 11's Way to go Lane! I was really glad for ya when you told me at the track. I told ya this converter would shine. I need to work on some weight removal as well. I might have to pull a few things should I decide to race at RRR in Shreveport this Saturday. I had my car down to 3,505# w/ an empty gas tank at Ennis. You'll definitely run quicker if you can get to a better track. |

Good question.. It feels like a dog with the muffler on it now. Trevor - It hooked like crazy on the first pass, but the second one just spun. Someone said I didn't heat up the Streets long enough... But a ricer went right through the water in front of me, so who knows. The HALS should help there. |
