help!! my LS1 running 14's all night!!
i was soo pissed!! i was expecting low 13's. i have a 2000 camaro SS with lid and loudmouth.
my best time was a 14.2 @ 102mph.. my 60' was HORRIBLE at 2.5 (first time drag racing). this was at sea level and it was pretty hot out.
is there something wrong with my car? or are the horrible times due to my lack in driving skills? if i had gotten my 60' down to say a 2 or a 2.2 then i would have been in the 13's right?
also i how do i launch this thing? please help!

in st. louis missouri. I was thinking maybe this is a B.C. thing. You're along
way from the midwest.

Mine ran 13.6 @ 105 Stock- 12.84 @ 111.5 w/ my mods- 2.2 (-ish) 60's both stock and modded (mods in sig.) I slip the clutch at 2500-3000 rpm and i feather the gas until they stop squealing and then I get on it 100%. I routinely cut .076 (.576) lights and people say that I can drive. Find out what works for you. BTW- I don't shift at red- power falls off after 5500 rpms- that's where I shift. Hope this helps- good luck!

sticky tires would help alot. your mph is a little low but that could be the heat. try launching at different rpm's/tire pressures untill you get the 60' down to ~1.9 oe 2.0. you should be well into the 13's and maybe 12's if you do it right.

i have a 02 ss with a 6spd and i ran 13.7 at ashcroft,so that is eqilivant of a 13.5 at mission ...what did you launch at? i was launchin mine at 1800,then flooring it,it got a 2.2 60 ft...tire presure was at 24psi..it sounds like you were havin probs because you should be running fast at mission..that track always has good air..i have seen it were it under sea level

My 2000 WS6 M6 ran a best of 13.1 with the only mods being a SPEC stage 3 carbon clutch and a cutout. M6 cars take a lot of practice. You should be able to cut 1.9-2.1 60fts on the stock tires, but you will have to slip the clutch which quickly decreases it's lifespan. Drag racing is all about two things: launch and shifts. Practice Practice Practice. Drag radials will help too but if you can't launch or shift good the ETs will still suck!
