I went 6.3s in the 1/8 10.00 in the 1/4 with my 275/50/15 mt drag radials 1.4 60ft

11.1 with a 1.55 60' last weekend with my manual trans C5 'vette. Going to 28s though.

Im not runnin any 6.50s lol but best is a 7.007 on mt drs. 275 40 17s stock zr1s 1.5 60'
The tires are plenty good enough to go faster. If I needed more I would move to a hoosier in the same size.

6.3-6.4 on a 235/60/15 drag radial, will be in the 5's real soon. Regular everyday street cars should have no problem hooking on a 26" tire.

7.25 1/8th here on a 1.61 60ft and my car doesn't transfer weight for ****

Hoosier 275/50r15

Yank SS3600, 418 rwhp, stiff suspension, 3700lb raceweight, 3.42 rear gear

I may go back to 26". I'm having trouble with 28" rubbing. Even 28" radials are rubbing. And I refuse to hack up my fenders.

Running 6.80's...

Well the 28" have more sidewall, so they tend to be more consistent for bracket racing. But the problem I have (not aware if others have this problem) is the 28's will rub sometimes. I've seen people chop up their fenders to help get around this but I really don't want to do that with mine. To each his own.

If your in doubt go 26's for now.

I am running 275 50 15 on a 15x10 would i hook better if i went to a 15x8 rim for more sidewall on the tires?

Imo. No. I'd try the same tire on the same rim in a Hoosier drag radial.
