Default Finally have a real rearend and tires...

Looking for some launch tips as this will be the first time I'm going to the strip with real tires and a bulletproof rear-axle.

H/C/I 404, m6 w/ textralia, 3.73 S60, 275 M&H DR's.

Have never cut a 60 foot faster than 2.1 i think.

What RPMs should I try launching at and should I feather it or do a straight hammer drop? Any tips on rear PSI? was going to start ~20.

My best 60ft with drag radials was on 15psi. Left around 6k with a quick slip. Do not just "drop it". You'll blow the tires off. Drag radials are not that bad *** for stick cars.

Unless you go in the next week or two you'll have to waite till next year. I think Milan and Lapeer are open till the end of November at the absolute lastest

I messed around with radials and a 6 speed and just got frustrated, do yourself a favor and get a bias ply.

For a radial at Lapeer, I cut 1.8's on a Nitto 555r 275/17 at 18 psi with a fast let off of the clutch from around 3k rpm.

For a street Bias ply I would recommend Hoosier QTP
For Track a 28" stiff wall, I run a M/T ET Drag 28x11.5x15 and cut high 1.3's at Lapeer.

nice rear end , I am jealous

you will still need a bias ply/stiff wall slick to get best traction but somewhere in the 13-16 psi range hot (check after your passes) and you should do much better than in the past even on your dr's , but the other limiting factor for you now will be suspension to be able to really let it eat , drag bar , drag shocks , torque arm etc...I don't see anything listed in your sig - do you have any aftermarket suspension in place ?

Shitcan the radials and put a set of 28x10.5s tires on and drop the clutch at 7k

This is exactly what you need to do. Wouldn't hurt at all to have more gear in the car either. My buddy races a N/A LS1 T56 that runs 10.30s all motor. he is running 4.57 gear and his car only weighs around 2500lbs. Some 4.30s would be a night and day difference to get that heavy car moving.

The GTO m12 trams with the steeper 1-2 gearset is also a trick to go.
