Default What front axle stud length?

Gents, what stud length do I need for my 1996 TA with lt1 brakes, small spacer and weld prostar pizza cutters? I think it's either 2.5 or 3" but I'd prefer to have shorter since I typically run my ZR1's. thanks

The arp 2.5" ones will be fine for the front. I believe the part number is 100-7706

3.25 or they won't come through the hex portion.

Depends on the wheels, lugs, and if spacers are used. The stud does not have to pass completely through, its more like halfway into as the rule reads. The 3 inch studs look pretty dumb on street wheels too.

He said on weld prostars. 2.5s will not reach the hex portion with the required spacer. The shank only should not be used to hold the wheel on. The stud has to make it through the hex portion the width of the stud and 2.5s won't on prosars.

Doesn't state that the thread engagement length has to be equal to or greater than the diameter of the thread or am I making **** up?

My mistake, I overlooked that he stated the combo.

Could have sworn I've seen at least some literature about thread engagement on bolts/nuts needing to be at lease the same as the diameter of the fastener. Just don't remember where I saw it. Maybe it has to do with the minimum thread engagement to be able to achieve max clamping force for a particular sized fastener.

Thread engagement on the lug must be equivalent to or greater than the diameter of the stud or bolt. Length of the stud/bolt doesn't determine permissability (example: a 7/16 inch stud must be thoroughly engaged through the threads in the hex portion of the lug a minimum of 7/16 inch.
