Bald Bfg's still hook?
 
Mine are just now getting bald and was wonderig if they will still hook at the track after a long burnout? Thanks

P.S.

Also when their just begun to be bald, how much life expected from them?

actually, i beg to differ. My BFG's were bald as crap when i ran them. NO tread whatsoever. just drop em to 12 psi and do a good burnout, and you'll be alright. Mine lasted me a season of racing....oh yea, i was cutting 1.6-1.7 on them...

I agree 100% with Nitin. The balder the better. Mine have only a slight bit of tread on the sidewall. Otherwise, they look like a slick - no tread at all on the contact patch. Weekend before last at Bradenton, I pulled two 1.63 60 ft times (best ever on 275/50/15 DR's). Point? They work best when bald.

As for how much life they have left, that's the bad part. There is no way or really telling. Unlike a slick, they do not have wear indicators. I am inspecting mine after every run now, looking for cords. As soon as cords start to show, into the trash they go (no pun intended).
