I am new to LS engines - been wrenching on a 327 in my '68 camaro for the past 36 years. Recently bought a 2002 Camaro stage 3 cam, stage 1 heads fast intake, Built 4160le with a 4000 stalletc... ( the cars previous owner said his best time was 11.6) first run was 12.38, second run was 12.03, Third run I was through the 8th mile and the motor cut out, I got off the throttle, shifted to OD and it picked right up. any suggestions on what to look at ??? Thanks

That's going to be tough to answer, So many possibilities. Could be in the tune/fuel pressure related/Senor going bad and so on. Did it throw any codes?

When I popped the hood today I found what I think is a vacuum line, coming out of the intake and plugging into a larger cylinder on the drivers side above the valve cover. not sure what its function is but I know it should be plugged in. Thanks for the reply.

Sounds like a fuel or electrical issue. Post a pick of the line you're talking about.

Brake booster line maybe???

Here is the Pic - the left side is coming from the intake and the right side ends up with wires going into a harness. All on the driver side just above the valve cover.

The cylinder thing is an evap purge solenoid

Thank you, I will do some research on that.

Do you think that would make it cut out, then pick back up ( but not normal) if it came apart in the middle of a run ?
