Talking TR224 cam only and NX 100 shot. Finally joined the 11sec club! (on nittos that is)

1.91 60 ft
5.12 330 ft

7.72 1/8 ET
94.4 1/8 MPH

9.95 1000 ET

11.81 1/4 ET
122.45 1/4 MPH

Most guys here know i still cant shift worth of **** but i did ok this time. I finally managed to heat the tires well enough for a good launch and 1.91 60ft is still my best on nittos (average joe driving here.. and still learning how to do burnouts so be easy on me.)

Mods in sig. This is a cam only car with a ford 8.8 rear end w/ 3.73s (manual). No weight reductions whatsoever. Race weight should be around 3500lbs. No suspension mods either.

I tried spraying out of the hole even after heating up the tires well enough but it still spun those 17" nittos BAD. Best 60ft was a 2.3 (trying to spray at the launch was just TOO uncontrollable).

Well this was my first time spraying those 373s. I must admit the rpms were just flying (not used to driving something this fast). Most of my shifting was just guessing! I have my shift light come on at 6400rpms (for NA runs, nitrous cuts off at 6200rpm) and I must admit the light came on at 6000rpms in 1st gear sometimes not on that 11.8 run though.. (stupid slow *** factory tach - wish i could depend on it)... I was shifting at like 5500rpms in 1st and guessing here and there and i finally made it!

11s BABY YEAH!!!!
It feels good joining the 11sec club

Im guessing with slicks and some more practice (also adjusting shiftlight to 6100rpm this time) this car should run very high 10s. Maybe a 125 shot will be necessary.

Oh and I forgot to mention that 11 sec pass was with the driver window rolled down.. what a noob driver haha..

This makes me wonder how fast 10 sec cars feel like behind the wheel

Congrats on the new times. Get that 60' time down to a 1.80 and you'll see 11.60's no problem.

I had to teach him how to do burnouts at the track but it was so worth it when I saw him make that 11 second pass. Congrats Ahmed.

This guy always has to make me look bad! haha j/k .. well I must agree he did teach me how to do burnouts that day and my car still went sideways and faced the freaking wall (so embarrassing but whatever im learning)..
Thanks for the help Jarred wouldnt have done it without you

Thanks to Nitro Daves also ... where would I be without that juice .

Weather was also very crappy. I trapped 115mph NA with the 342s before and only trapped 112mph NA this time on the 373s ... well I still picked up 10mph on the spray so I guess I did ok... Still need more practice

if you have a good rear and clutch which you do, slick that car up and spray it outta the hole man, no reason not to.

don't be afraid to run a 150 shot with that wet kit on your setup, stick an inline pump in to be safe on the fuel and rock it out.

So you do have a shift light, but why do you shift before it comes on?
Why guess when your shifting if you have a light? just wait for it to come on then shift.
why would you pill your shift light from 6,400 to 6,100?

Oh im not afraid to spray it out of the hole. Just dont have slicks yet I tried to spray it out of the hole on the nittos but they couldnt handle it

Thanks a ton. I gotta admit your constant advice helped me out BIG time and I do appreciate it lots. It really pays off to have such a great friend . Oh and trust me you'll break into the 10s NA before I ever do even on spray.. We just need to start modding that Z06 and UNLEASH THE FURY!

I knew I could of confused some of you guys. My bad. Let me re-explain. My harlan shiftlight is programmed to come on at 6400rpms for NA runs to shift at 6500rpms - optimal shift point for NA runs only. But my nitrous window switch shuts off the nitrous at 6200rpms (thats the pill on there right now). That is why I kept shifting before the light came on. I was advised to use a 6200rpm window pill for safety reasons if a misshift were to happen. I programmed my shiftlight to come on at 6400rpms because I street race a lot and its very rare for me to ever need the bottle... maybe one day ill just throw a 6500rpm window pill in there and be done with it .. we'll see.

I will hopefully one day. Thanks for all the advice in the pms man. Hopefully one day ill run 10s on this cam only bottled car just like you . I must admit my car was really modded to be a fast street car rather than a quarter mile car so i never really planned on getting slicks but it is getting VERY tempting now ... especially after I spent so much damn money on the rear end.

Thanks for the awesome feed back guys. Hope this thread helps out those that are looking into this cam and spraying it one day. So far i've been very satisfied with this cam but ofcourse getting bit by the modbug always makes you wanna go faster .. we'll see what happens until then.

Let me know if you guys have any questions and ill be more than glad to give you guys more feedback or assistance

Ahmed also failed to mention that he had 32psi in the nittos when he made that pass. I dropped them down to about 16 and ran later in the night but never had as good of a pass as he did on the 11 second pass. Just trying a few different things. I am sure that I can help him get that thing dialed in and with some better weather and slicks we may see some high 10 second passes out of it yet. Would love to do it on just the 100 shot if the weather gets good it may just do that.

thanks sean ... wish I could see your car running at the track with some DRs or better yet slicks... i bet you would beat my times NA with those 410s... one day we should do a street "roll" race with me on spray. You should pretty much hang with me (or maybe even beat me with me on the bottle ofcourse).. its time you invested in a rear end so we can go drag racing

If you decide to head to SAR let me know for sure...
